Meet Mick, the man of many names and the founder of Freedom Electrical Services. In 2013, Mick took a leap and started his own electrical business, driven by a passion for creative problem-solving, strong customer relationships, and a love for the trade.
Within just seven years, Freedom Electrical had secured a spot in the top 100 most highly-rated businesses on Localsearch, backed by over 100 glowing 5-star reviews.
Mick’s humor, friendliness, and drive for perfection have become the foundation of Freedom Electrical’s culture.
His approach to leadership fosters a business that prioritises quality, clear communication, and going the extra mile for customers. It’s no surprise that many of Mick’s customers end up becoming more like long-term friends.
When he’s not ensuring every project runs smoothly, you’ll find Mick unwinding at North Avoca, playing music, or perfecting his golf swing (with varying levels of success).
Mitchy is no ordinary apprentice. Jumping into the trade in his 30s as a mature-age apprentice, Mitchy brings dedication, determination, and a strong work ethic to the team. His commitment to learning and growing in the field is unmatched, and he’s always ready to give his best effort on the job.
A natural team player, Mitchy is well on his way to becoming an exceptional sparky.
In his downtime, Mitchy enjoys hitting the golf course with mates and caring for wild bunny rabbits — while also keeping an eye on his mischievous cat (it’s a long story).
Behind every great business is an even greater organiser, and for Freedom Electrical, that’s Avalon. As Office Manager, Av ensures the back end of the business runs smoothly and efficiently. From managing admin to supporting the team, she’s the quiet force that keeps everything on track. As Mick’s wife and business partner, she’s a vital part of Freedom Electricals’ day-to-day operations and long-term success.
Av’s creative flair extends well beyond the office. With an endless list of creative projects on the go, she’s always finding ways to bring new ideas to life.
She also runs a side business offering life and relationship coaching to couples — and let’s just say, Mick gets the occasional “practice session” too.
